60. Catastrophe Music Guide

What follows is a list of all the music that appeared in the standard version of Robotech episode 60: "Catastrophe." Bold text denotes that this is the first appearance of that piece of music.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: The track "Catastrophe" is used in this episode, when Zor destroys the Robotech Masters' flagship above the ruins of the SDF-1. The soundtrack does not list a working title for this piece of music, and "Catastrophe" is a good descriptive title, but since this episode title was taken from the original Japanese Southern Cross episode title (albeit for the previous episode) it's my guess that the soundtrack staff renamed it after this episode.

The final count for "The 15th Squadron" has it used in 21 out of 24 episodes of The Robotech Masters.

58. Final Nightmare Music Guide

What follows is a list of all the music that appeared in the standard version of Robotech episode 58: "Final Nightmare." Bold text denotes that this is the first appearance of that piece of music.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: "Invid Theme (The Flower of Life Instrumental Version)" makes its debut in this episode, and it gets used a lot in the last half of the episode as our heroes discover the flower in question and learn its secrets.

Also in this episode is a third unreleased piece of Cosmic Harp music. This one is completely new and not a variation of any of the previous three themes, so I've labeled it "The Cosmic Harp (d)." It's used twice in this episode.

57. Daydreamer Music Guide

What follows is a list of all the music that appeared in the standard version of Robotech episode 57: "Daydreamer." Bold text denotes that this is the first appearance of that piece of music.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: The big one in this episode is of course the first usage of "Flower of Life," and the only time it's used with the vocal track, although the instrumental version will become a regular staple of the series from here on out. This song also marks the debut of Michael Bradley and Steve Wittmack, with Joanne Harris on vocals here. Bradley and Wittmack would go on to write the songs for both Yellow Dancer and Robotech: The Movie, with Bradley performing Yellow Dancer's vocals and Harris performing EVE's vocals in the latter.

Über Geek Confession: Around 1986 I looped this song to fill up one complete side of a 90-minute cassette. Keep in mind there were no soundtracks at that point, so it was just recorded off the television with Dana's echoing "Does anyone know where Musica is?" dialogue over top of it. I'd listen to it on my Walkman in bed and just zone out to it in the middle of the night.

This episode also uses the unreleased "a2 variation" of "The Cosmic Harp" again.

This episode is also only the third episode of The Robotech Masters to not to use "The 15th Squadron" music.

ADDITONAL NOTES: New music! "Escalations (e2)" is used for the first time in this episode. There's not much non-generation specific music that we haven't heard left, and I suspect the four that are remaining may not have been used.
